Town band to gig at capital’s O2 arena

WELLINGTON-BASED Thunderbridge Bluegrass Band are going from strength to strength in recent months.

Just a month after their appearance with Mary Berry on ABC television’s Great American Baking Show, the quartet have landed two gigs at the prestigious Country 2 Country Festival at London’s 02 Arena.

The three-day extravaganza takes place on the weekend of March 10 and features some of the top names in the US and UK country music fields. Stars such as Brad Paisley, Reba McEntire and the Zac Brown Band are on the line up, as well as many UK based up and coming bands. Many stages are set up around the complex, and Thunderbridge are scheduled to play two sets on the Saturday. This is a great step forward for the band, who by their own admission aren’t trying to ‘make it’, rather just having some fun and get good gigs while they can. They also are quick to remind their loyal local audience that they are still available for local events and gigs.

“Get in touch with us” they say. “If you fancy some great bluegrass at your event, church, school or village hall then pop us an email – it’s surprising how easy these things are to sort out!”

Anyone wishing to get in touch with the band can email them via the website, www.thunderbridgebluegrass.uk, or via their Facebook page Thunderbridge Bluegrass Boys.
