IT'S THE time of the year when football clubs start looking at next season with the view to who will be managing their teams, writes Barry Knott.

But Wellington's chairman Mike Hall admits they have not got around to this because of the recent bad weather.

"We have not spoken to Richard (Cherry) yet," said Hall. "It's not been on the agenda but it will come up at some stage between now and the beginning of May.

"We don't know what Richard wants to do and what his vision for the club. We have not thought about it at the moment.

"This applies to all the other managers - we're just too pre-occupied at the moment. We have so many teams within the club."

Wellington's first team continue their hectic end of season schedule with a tough away match against promotion-chasing Bridgwater United in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League on Good Friday. Wellington will be looking to avenge a 2-1 home defeat by United on Boxing Day. Bridgwater won the game with a controversial winner four minutes into the second half. Wellington felt they should have been awarded a free kick as Ryan Brereton was bundled over before the ball was played forward to Jay Murray who netted his second goal of the game.

Wellington piled on the pressure after this but could not find an equaliser.

Wellington will also be in action on Easter Monday when they play at home to Street in another premier division game (3.00).

Wellington Reserves end a three-week enforced break when they play at home to Dawlish United in the first division of the Devon and Exeter League on Saturday. Wellington have not played since they beat Teignmouth 2-1 at home to record their sixth successive victory in the first division.

Hemycock are away to Bravehearts in Division Three on Easter Monday (Willand, 5.30p.m.). Hemyock are second from bottom and Bravehearts are only two places above them.

Meanwhile, Wellington goalkeeper Rob Hall is still on course to make a playing comeback after having his ACL reconstructed in May of last year.

Hall will have been sidelined for 18 months when he starts training with the first team during the summer.

Still only in his mid-20s, Hall is determined to play again despite suffering an injury which would have ruled out many players from returning to the game.

He recently saw his consultant who said he was happy with his progress. However, although he is back training, 'full contact' is ruled out.
