Hairdresser Davinia Fox bade farewell to her premises in Rockwell Green in the run-up to Christmas by offering customers a slice of Narnia.
Her salon was decorated as the fictional realm of the C S Lewis novels before she shut up shop on Christmas Eve.
Davinia was given notice to vacate the premises, her base for more than eight years, at the start of September, but is carrying on working as a mobile hairdresser from Wednesday (January 12).
Her Narnia-themed display included a wardrobe with a mirror and lights made by her father, Roy Fox, with a silver stag’s head on top. And a snowy scene featured robins, a glittery pink deer, cones sprayed with silver, a solar-powered black lamp, spiralling lights and mirrored baubles.
On Christmas Eve, Davinia dressed as the Snow Queen and her daughter Bethany, a health care assistant at Linden House, as the lion Aslan.
Davinia, commenting on receiving notice to quit her premises, said: “It came as a huge blow, as I envisioned being there for many more years to come.” And she added: “My clients have been devastated for me but the support they have given and are still doing is overwhelming.”
Davinia can be contacted through her Facebook page - HAIR by Davinia – until she gets a new phone number and can also be found in The Edge directory.
