CARAVANS being stored at the Tonedale Mill site in Wellington were vandalised by yobs.

The Mill site has been prone to anti-social behaviour and the latest incident saw a caravan set on fire.

A police spokesman said: “A witness reported seeing two boys and one girl running away. Firefighters attended alongside police but nobody was ever seen or found.

“Also on the same date windows of other caravans were smashed in the area.”

The spokesman added: “Although the caravans looked like they had been abandoned they were only being stored before being used at another location. Some caravans have now been removed.”
