TEN people took part in a walk from Wellington town centre to Wellington Monument and back.

National Trust community engagement and fundraising officer Emma Jones organised the walk to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of the first Duke of Wellington.

On the way up to the Monument, Colin Spackman stopped several times to talk about some of the history of the route, the Monument and the first Duke of Wellington.

Money raised will go to the National Trust’s Monument restoration fund. Pictured are some of the participants at the start of the walk.
