PUPILS and staff at St John’s Primary School in Wellington became foxes, giants, witches and a cast of other weird and wonderful characters as they celebrated popular author Roald Dahl.
They joined schools across the UK in dressing up as their favourite Dahl character to mark the author’s birth 100 years ago.
The day began with an assembly in which pupils shared facts about Dahl and staff gave a lively performance of his Revolting Rhyme The Three Little Pigs.
The rest of the day included Dahl-inspired activities such as fact finding, writing character descriptions and poetry, art work and quizzes.
Pupils also had the opportunity to hear an extract from the Dahl book of their choice, as teaching assistants, teachers and the head teacher took part in storytelling sessions. It was a totally phizz-whizzing, buckswashling, delumptious day!
