New starters in Year 7 at Court Fields School in Wellington have been on an exciting ‘transition camp’ in north Devon – including an ultimate wipe-out course.
The youngsters were based for three days and two nights at the Ultimate Adventure Camp in Bideford.
Head of year Mr Reed said: “It is a very important part of our transition to support students. We wanted to provide team-building and bonding experiences, as well as the chance to try new activities and develop skills such as teamwork, resilience and creativity.
“Students took part in a wide range of activities, including high ropes, paddle boarding, ultimate wipe-out course, archery and shooting.”
Kelsie said: “It was so much fun – I got to try new activities and work with people I hadn’t worked with before.”
On the first day students visited Croyde to try surfing and coasteering, and Lucas said: “It was great fun and luckily the sun was shining.”
During the evenings students toasted marshmallows at the fire pit, took part in a quiz and visited The Big Sheep.
