LEADEN skies and a chilly wind failed to dampen spirits at the 123rd Wellington Street Fair on Sunday.

High Street was packed with hundreds of visitors as the town put on its party clothes for the annual jamboree held to boost Wellington Carnival funds.
The event was opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wellington, Andrew and Jackie Govier – and has been deemed a success by the organisers.
