ROYAL Marines charity Go Commando is presenting An Evening with Falklands War Veteran Simon Weston CBE next month.
Simon was severely injured when RFA Sir Galahad was destroyed by enemy fire in the war in 1982 but he has gone on to rebuild his life.
The event is for Go Commando, which is about to launch 360 for GC – Because We Care, a campaign to raise £360,000 to create a new family community centre near the 40 Commando Royal Marines base at Norton Fitzwarren.
The facility will be available to the local community as well as military families and is already gaining interest from partner agencies.
The talk is at Queen’s College Theatre, Taunton, on Friday, May 6.
Tickets priced £26 are available online at bookings.queenscollege.org.uk or by phone on 01823 340880.
