ASDA is set to open in Wellington, the WWN can reveal.

But the future of the mothballed superstore in Red Lion Court in the town remains shrouded in mystery.

The Co-operative Group announced yesterday, Tuesday it had agreed to sell the Co-operative Food store on Longforth Road in the town to Asda.

But a spokeswoman at the Co-op's head office said the grocery chain was still considering its options for trading in Wellington.
