VILLAGERS in Milverton journeyed back in time to the Second World War era for the launch of the book ‘Darlingest – Milverton in the War’.

Guests at the event at the Victoria Rooms were due to be able to enjoy a wartime tea and see photographs and documents. Then later a 1940s-style evening of music and dance was to be held including the Upottery Airfield Heritage Trust re-enactors dressed in uniform.

’Darlingest – Milverton in the War’ is compiled and written by Elizabeth McDowell and Jane Woodland, and is priced £15. It is available from Brendon Books, Bath Place, Taunton, at locations in Milverton and from Elizabeth McDowell, 5 Woodbarton, Milverton TA4 1LU.
