WWN reader Fay Male, of Waterloo Road, Wellington, brought in these photos of carnival floats, she thinks dating from the early 1950s, in Brendon Road in the town.

On the Wellington Guides float Fay recognised Joyce Pike (far left), Ann Perry (kneeling) and Janet Bath (Sully) (right, front).

In the other picture of a Fox Bros float Fay remembers Derek James (far right) and Clarice Pook in the white dress (centre).
