Last One Home, the Wellington-based band, have a new single out today (Friday, April 24) called appropriately ’Saving the World’.

Everyday life has been affected by the coronavirus emergency and the arts and culture sector is no different. The band was scheduled to launch the new track with a live show in Plymouth but this has had to be cancelled.

So the launch has been taking place on social media, building up to the release on all major digital platforms including Spotify, Amazon and iTunes, with plays on radio stations to follow.

Lead singer, songwriter and guitarist Tom Westlake said: “With everyone in the band in lockdown, we have been collaborating remotely, which inevitably slows things down a bit. However, the good news is that we are now launching this single and I am currently working on mixing and producing more singles.”

Bass player Harry Lowndes said: “Our latest UK tour finished a couple of months ago and all our shows and festival appearances scheduled for the coming months have been scrapped because of COVID 19. Consequently, we are delighted to be able to maintain and build our presence on the national and international music scene with ‘Saving the World’.

“I am looking forward to the excitement of getting on stage again, trying out some new songs and going wild. We think everyone will want to get out and have a good time – eventually! Until then, I hope you can find some time to listen to ’Saving the World’."

’Saving the World’ has been produced by Matt Bond, who is also the drummer.
