THE Repair Café in Wellington is becoming established with the third of its bi-monthly events held on Saturday morning at the Baptist Church Hall in South Street.
The event sees experts fix or refurbish items visitors take along, which they may otherwise throw away.
Among the experts were three electricians, two bike mechanics, a woman who sews, a furniture repairer, a computer whizz, a man who sharpens tools and a general handy-person.
Women’s Institute members provided tea and cake with the profits going to charity.
The event is run under the auspices of Transition Town Wellington on a not-for-profit basis, although visitors who have items fixed are invited to make a donation.
The next Repair Café is on Saturday, August 17, when experts who repair clocks and jewellery are attending.
More volunteers are need to help bring new life to old items.
Anyone who thinks they could offer a useful service can contact Repair Café co-ordinator Holly Regan-Jones on 01823 660161 or email [email protected]
