Bluegrass renegades Thunderbridge Bluegrass Band are back in Wellington for one night only this December, finishing another brilliant year with a traditional homecoming show at their old stomping ground, Wellington Arts Centre.
It has been a summer of festivals, arts centre shows and some shows in Ireland, but one of the highlights was playing to about 3,000 on the main stage at a vintage festival in Bedfordshire.
The band, with a new album planned in spring 2019, are looking forward to coming back to the roots of Thunderbridge, to the venue they recorded their first CD back in 2005. They will play a full show of new album material, recent favourites and some classic Thunderbridge for good measure.
Tickets for the concert on Saturday, December 15, are £12 and are available from the website, www.thunderbridgebluegrass.uk, or in person from Gibbins Richards estate agents in Wellington, High Street, or from the venue itself.
n CINEMA audiences around the UK, including at the Wellesley in Wellington, will see the Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker next week.
The ballet will be broadcast live from Covent Garden on Monday, December 3, at 7.15pm with an encore screening on Sunday, December 9.
