WELLINGTON town councillor Bob Bowrah is to be the next deputy mayor of Taunton Deane, the WWN can reveal.
He will take up his duties in May.
The appointment puts Cllr Bowrah, who also represents Rockwell Green and West Ward on Somerset County Council, on course to be Mayor of Taunton Deane in 2009.
Cllr Bowrah, 63, who lives in Holyoake Street, Wellington, told the WWN: "I want to be an ambassador for Wellington, as well as Taunton Deane."
