Rockwell Green Shortmat Bowls Club has learnt of the death of Cecil Lane, one of the stalwarts of the club for 19 years.

Cecil (pictured)­ also played at Hemyock and Wiveliscombe. 

He was a gifted player and won many of the club’s competitions – and was always ready to encourage and give advice to players old and new. 

He will be sadly missed by all his shortmat friends.
