THE offices of the Wellington Weekly News are being used as a drop-off point for Operation Christmas Child in which shoeboxes filled with goodies are delivered to needy children around the world.

Gifts could include items like a ‘wow’ toy – a deflated football with pump or a doll – skipping ropes, puzzles, stationery for use in school and non-liquid hygiene items like toothpaste, flannels and combs.

The WWN will accept Christmas boxes until 4.30pm on November 24 – Samaritan’s Purse will then collect them and provide transport to children in need around the world.
