HOUSE builder David Wilson Homes is giving £1,000 to help provide hanging baskets in Bishops Lydeard next year.

The company, which is building homes at Moorland Gate, is giving the money to Bishops Lydeard and Cothelstone Parish Council.

Thanks to the funding, next year’s display will see the main road connecting the development to the village centre lined with flowers.

Clerk to the council Amy Shepherd said: “Thanks to this donation from David Wilson Homes we’re working to bring back the beautiful hanging baskets displays that Bishops Lydeard was developing quite a reputation for.

“And there couldn’t be a better time to do so, since we are all likely to be in need of some brightening up come spring next year.”

Moorland Gate offers a range of 173 two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes.
