Staff and residents at Nynehead Court are celebrating after learning that they have reached the finals of a national awards programme.

The home is a finalist in the Care Establishment of the Year category in the National Association of Care Catering (NACC) awards. These awards are held annually and for the first time the ceremony will be a ‘virtual’ event due to coronavirus restrictions.

Nynehead Court has overcome considerable competition to reach the final in its category. To become a finalist, it had to demonstrate how its meals and beverages deliver choice and meet dietary and nutritional needs, and ensure that the dining environment improves the residents’ experience. The care home will find out if it has won the award on October 8.

Home manager Joanne Fenn said: “We’re honoured and excited to have reached the finals of the NACC awards. Our residents are looking forward to the ceremony next month and we are planning how we can involve them in the day.”
