WELLINGTON Carnival has appointed its new Carnival Royalty, who will represent Wellington Carnival for 2018/19 and the town at other carnivals and events.

The Carnival Queen is Pauline Hayes who will be assisted by Carnival Princesses Jess Duheaume, ten, from Langford Budville Primary School, and Lucie Tooze, ten, from St John’s Primary School, Wellington.

Organiser Louise Brierley said: “We sincerely hope Pauline’s colleagues at the Co-op, who always support us, and her family continue to support her.”

Louise added: “We thank Wellington Football Club for kindly hosting our pageant this year. Its continued support of community events and making its superb facilities available is appreciated, and we sincerely hope the forthcoming season is as successful as last year.

“Secondly, we would like to thank Unwin Photography for supporting Wellington Carnival for the fourth consecutive year – all pageant entrants were again presented with a professionally produced photograph. Our vision is to create memories for all participants and Unwin Photography help us to achieve this.”

“Pauline, Jess and Lucie will lead our carnival procession in 2018. We really hope you will give them a huge Wellington welcome as they pass through our town. Somerset illuminated carnivals are unique and all the girls should be commended for having the bravery to put themselves forward for selection this year.

“Also thanks to our committee and our previous royalty family who continue to work behind the scenes.”
