CAROLS Under the Stars, an evening of carol singing at Wellington Monument, will mark the finale of a year of events celebrating the Blackdown Hills’ 25th anniversary as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The free event tomorrow (Friday) will see an avenue of roman candles light the path to the landmark, while a bonfire will keep everyone warm as they sing. Members of Blackdown Community Choir will lead the Christmas singing and mince pies and mulled wine will be on sale thanks to Smeatharpe WI.

Carols Under the Stars, organised by the Blackdown Hills AONB Partnership and the National Trust, is from 7.30-9pm and visitors are advised to wrap up warm and take a torch.

If the weather is poor on the night, check the Blackdown Hills AONB website before setting off – www.blackdownhillsaonb.org.uk/calendar.htm
