WWN weather correspondent Simon Ratsey sent in this photo of a caterpillar of the Mullein Moth.

He said: “It looks rather like a plastic toy, I always think! It was one of a dozen or so feeding on a mullein plant – sometimes called Aaron’s Rod – growing at Swain’s Lane Nature Reserve.

“A case of ‘plant it and they will come’. I don’t suppose many visitors to the reserve will have noticed it, although it’s close to the entrance. My finger is there for scale.”
