PART of the proceeds of festive entertainment Christmas at the Wellesley have been handed over to help provide a bench at Wellington Monument.

Nancy Powell-Brace, who produced the Christmas event, presented a cheque for £412 to National Trust community fundraiser and engagement officer Emma Jones this week. The bench will carry a plaque thanking the people of Wellington.

The money represents half the ticket proceeds from the event with other money raised being presented to two other local charities earlier in the year.
