CHARITIES are being invited to nominate themselves this month (October) to receive a free Christmas tree this festive season from Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm at Langford Budville.

Middle Hill Farm has 100 trees to give away to worthy causes.

Nick Hendy, from the tree farm, said: “Each year we donate three large Christmas trees to Wellington, Wiveliscombe and Taunton town centres, but once again this year we wanted to do more and spread the Christmas spirit further.

“Last year we donated Christmas trees to worthy causes in Somerset and it was such a huge success, so we’re doing it all again in 2021.

“We will have 100 Nordmann Fir Christmas trees available to donate to charities in Somerset.

“We are asking each charity which would like a tree to email us via [email protected] and explain in no more than 100 words why they would like one of our trees. The deadline for entries is midnight on Friday, November 12, 2021 and entries are on a first come, first served basis.

“We will then reply to the successful charities, and they will be able to come and collect their Christmas tree from our farm in late November/early December at a mutually agreeable time.”

The family-run 40-acre farm is close to the Langford Heathfield nature reserve, a mile outside Langford Budville.

It is owned and run by Reg and his wife Ann and their two sons and daughters-in-law, Shaun, Trudy, Nick and Clare. The family has been growing and selling Christmas trees for more than 20 years.

Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm is open every day from Saturday, November 13, where a small selection of Christmas trees will be available. The full range of trees from the barn will be on offer from Saturday, November 20.
