THE deputy mayor of Wellington, Cllr Gary James, and his wife Birgit attended the Civic Service of Cllr Darren Shutler, mayor of Yeovil, on Sunday.

The event provided an opportunity for civic leaders and councillors to meet on a more spiritual footing and reminded them of the responsibilities they hold to their respective electorates.

It also gave councillors a chance to discuss with colleagues, new and old, the various improvements they can make to benefit their communities.

Cllr James said: “It was a privilege to represent the Mayor of Wellington, Bob Bowrah, and the people of Wellington at this occasion.”
