His talk on Monday, July 18, will cover the 2015 United Nations Summit, climate tipping points and how global warming affects everyone. He will also consider measures being taken to reduce climate change and further action that will be needed.

The talk will start at 7.30pm, with doors open from 7pm, and the meeting will finish by 9.30pm. Entry is £2 on the door and free for school pupils. Parking is available at the school and the nearby Croft Way car park.

Nine local groups, including Transition Town Wellington, Wivey Action on Climate and Sustainable Villages are jointly promoting the meeting.

Patricia Robertson, chairman of Wivey Action on Climate, said: “All are welcome to attend and this is a great opportunity to hear directly from a top climate expert, so we are expecting a large turnout.”
