‘HAVE your say’ drop-ins to discuss the creation of Somerset’s first Climate Emergency Strategy have been confirmed for January and February.

The events, which have been re-scheduled because of the General Election, will take place in each district council area, and are being run by the Somerset Climate Action Network on behalf of Somerset’s four district councils and the county council.

Earlier this year all five councils declared ‘climate emergencies’ and agreed to work together to produce a joint strategy to identify ways to work towards being carbon neutral by 2030, and adapt to predicted climate change impacts.

The Somerset West and Taunton event is on Saturday, January 18, between 10am-4pm, at The Glassbox in Taunton Library.

The organisers will seek feedback on whether the work so far covers everything it should and whether there are actions communities could take forward themselves.

An online survey will also be available between January 6 and February 19.
