FIVE members of the team at the Co-op in Fore Street, Wellington, had a nervous wait before they jumped 15,000ft from a plane.
They arrived at Dunkeswell Airfield at just after breakfast time but couldn’t jump until conditions improved in mid-afternoon.
Manager Mark Jones, team leaders Julie Salter and Louise Davy, and checkout operators Sharon White and Pauline Hayes were raising money for the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
Pauline said: "If I could have backed out at any point it was just before jumping out of the plane door – I didn’t enjoy the freefall."
The team have raised more than £1,000 so far but contributions can still be made at a collection box in the store.
Pauline and fellow member of staff Tim Perrin had their heads shaved last autumn to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
