MEMBERS of staff from the Co-op supermarket in Fore Street, Wellington, are set to canoe and walk along the Taunton and Bridgwater Canal and raise hundreds of pounds for a good cause.

The eight-strong team, some on foot and some on the water, will cover a distance of nine miles to raise money for Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance on Sunday, October 13.

A cake stall in the Co-op has already raised about £500 for the charity and it is hoped to raise similar amounts through both the canal paddle and walk, and a bingo evening.

Collection pots are available in the store for anyone who would like to contribute to the charity.
