YEAR 11 students at Court Fields School in Wellington celebrated success in their GCSE exams last week.
Among them were Bradley Lovell, who received 9s in every subject he took – ‘an exceptional achievement’, said the school. Other high achievers were Andrew Bellfield and Sam Gilding who each received five grade 9s and three grade 8s.
The school also praised Sam Garnett, Larissa Chambers, Ellie Groves, Noah Osbon and Grace Poore, for their ‘outstanding progress’ across all their subjects.
Acting headteacher Polly Matthews said: “In extraordinary circumstances our Year 11 students have responded to the challenges presented to them with commendable maturity, and this, together with their hard work over the last two years, bodes well for their futures.
“Following the Government announcement last week, students were awarded their centre assessment grades, which were submitted by the school following a rigorous process of moderation for each grade, in every subject.
“Our teachers used their extensive experience of individual students and subject content to evaluate students’ performance across the entirety of the two-year course, and the grades awarded are a reflection of our students’ commitment and ambition.
“We are very proud of our Year 11 leavers 2020. Their results clearly demonstrate their hard work and everyone at Court Fields School wishes them the very best for their futures.
“I would like to thank all the Court Fields staff, whose commitment and dedication over the last 12 months has supported these results, and laid the foundations for further improvement and success in 2021. Thank you also to our parents and carers, whose support has been integral in their children’s and the school’s progress.”
