Nynehead Court is holding an Open Gardens event on Sunday, June 2.

The home’s NGS Open Gardens events are always well attended by gardens enthusiasts eager to see the home’s 13 acres during different seasons.

At this time of year the trees will be in full leaf giving many different shades of green, the herbaceous borders will be in full flower and the bedding plant schemes will have been newly planted.

Visitors who are feeling energetic will be able to take an extended walk around the old parkland and a plant stall will be available.

The grounds are open from 2-4.30pm with a tour by head gardener Justin Cole at 2pm.

The cost is £5 adults – no charge for children – and tea and home-made cake will be for sale in the Orangery after the tour.

Home manager Angela Watkins said: “We are always delighted to show off our wonderful grounds, and the NGS Open Gardens events allow us to raise money for this wonderful cause at the same time.

“We hope visitors will also attend our Garden Fete on June 29 in aid of Wellington Monument.”
