THE Covid 19 pandemic has caused a career rethink for one Wellington resident, who has just started offering body piercing services.

Instead of going to university, Zara Brooke Ellins decided to learn to body pierce - from the navel up.

After her training, she opened Zara Brooke Piercings, operating on Fridays and Saturdays out of the Shave Yard barbers in central Wellington.

Brooke, who attended Court Fields School and Richard Huish sixth form college in Taunton is also an artist, and continues to work part time in Subway.

Brooke says she has been overwhelmed with the support and thanks everyone who has already trusted her to pierce them.

On Brooke’s first day open to the public a client left the following message: "Absolutely delighted with my two piercings from Zara. She made me feel completely at ease and was so warm and friendly from the moment I arrived in the studio. Zara listened to what I wanted and discussed options with me."
