WELLINGTON Library held a caterpillar mask-making craft event on Wednesday to tie in with this year’s Summer Reading Challenge The Big Friendly Read.

Celebrating 100 years of Roald Dahl, this year’s reading challenge has seen more than 200 children sign up at the library to read six books over the summer holidays. If they succeed they will be presented with a medal and a certificate.

The next Big Friendly Read event is on Wednesday, August 24, at 11 am. Children are being invited to go along and use Lego to create their own factory and sweets, and maybe even build some of Roald Dahl’s characters from his books.

Places are limited, so anyone interested is advised to call into the library and book in advance.
