A MEMBER of Somerset West and Taunton’s housing team has been shortlisted for a national award in recognition of “the people that make housing great”.

Dee Bradley is a finalist in the Inspirational Colleague of the Year category of the Housing Heroes Awards run by Inside Housing and the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Dee, who works in the team offering advice on debts and benefits, said: “I was blown away to be nominated and to get this far is huge – things like this don’t usually happen to me.

“I just love my job and work with some amazing colleagues. I’m very proud to be able to do the very best I can to work for and support our communities here in the district.”

Cllr Fran Smith, executive member for housing, said: “Dee has really shone in how she supports our tenants with great customer service.

“She really deserves this accolade and we wish her luck, but whatever happens the winners are also our tenants who receive great care and amazing service from Dee.”

The Housing Heroes Awards 2020 will take place at a virtual awards ceremony on Thursday, September 10. as part of the Housing 2020: The Virtual Festival.
