CRUFTS winner Bonny Quick from Sampford Moor celebrated her success with newborn baby son Charlie at the prestigious dog show held at Birmingham NEC.

The agility trainer won the Kennel Club British Open title in the small height category winning both the jumping and agility sections to take the overall title with five-year-old Jack Russell cross Border Collie Shelley.

Bonny, who gave birth four weeks before the event, said: “I took Charlie with me when I came to collect the award – he went round the main ring to join in the presentation.”

Shelley, otherwise known as Agility Champion Goldheart Trail of Flames, had to qualify at two previous events for Crufts, competing against hundreds of dogs, and came up against 25 of the very best at the showpiece event, 60 per cent from abroad.

Bonny and Shelley have been chosen to be part of the Agility Team GB squad this year where they will represent the UK at either the European Open Agility championships in Austria or the FCI World Agility Championships in Sweden later on in the year.
