FIFTY-ONE calls were made to Wellington Police about anti-social behaviour in the town in September, the town council was told at its monthly meeting.

In total the Wellington Town Beat received 209 calls which included four alleged sexual assaults and nine of common assault and battery.

Six cases of theft from shops were recorded with two on the same day – Saturday, September 16 – and an incident of an ‘owner or person in charge’ allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control.

On Saturday, September 9, the following case was recorded: ‘Take or to make indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children’.

The local police were not present at the October council meeting.
