A DEVASTATED couple have paid a heartbreaking tribute to their 35-year-old son who died in a road accident on the A38 blackspot by the Beambridge Inn near Wellington late on Sunday afternoon, writes Barry Knott.
Car enthusiast Elliott Sparks, who lived with his long-term partner and fiancee Becka Abson, died instantly when his Toyota Chaser, a Japanese imported car, crashed on a road which has long been regarded as dangerous. Another vehicle is also believed to have been involved.
Elliott went to Sampford Arundel and West Buckland primary schools before going on to become a student of The Castle School, Taunton.
His parents Paul and Trina Sparks, of Dyers Close, West Buckland, said: “His attitude about living was simple – just live the life. And he certainly did.

“We never realised Elliott had so many friends. We are in awe of them – they have kept us going. His work colleagues have also been fantastic.
“We should also like to thank the emergency services. They could not have been more professional and kind.”
The road at the scene of the crash was closed to traffic until it re-opened on Monday afternoon.
