A HOMELESS feline OAP is desperately looking for a loving new owner after being taken in by Cats Protection’s Taunton & Wellington Branch.

Thirteen-year-old Perky was handed into the branch after her owners emigrated and were not able to take her with them.

Having been cared for by the branch since early June, volunteers say they are now desperate to find her an owner so she can settle in a new home by Christmas.

Ann Manners, co-ordinator of Cats Protection’s Taunton & Wellington branch, said: “Perky is a lovely cat who would make a wonderful pet, yet she’s been passed by time and time again, perhaps because of her age. She may be 13, but she’s still an active and independent cat and has so much to offer.

“She’d love a home where she can potter about in the garden before curling up on her owner’s lap for a snooze. She’d happily sit on a lap for hours on end, purring away.

“Older cats like Perky make great pets, as they often prefer to stay closer to home, have a calmer nature and enjoy the companionship of their owner.”
