FORMER Wellesley Park Primary School and Wellington School pupil Tom Carson has made his international debut playing in the England U21 men's hockey team in two matches against Germany.

Germany's U21 team are the current World Cup champions so the 3 - 3 draw in the first match was very respectable.

Germany stepped up a gear and won 4 -2 in the second.

Tom hopes his performances in Krefeld, Germany, will help him to be selected for the U21 squad which will go to Poland in July for the European Championships.

Tom's selection came after playing for a season in the Premier Division for Exeter University Men's 1st Hockey team which also won the British Universities and Colleges Sport cup in March.

His 'man of the match' performance in the final, scoring two of the three goals, helped defeat Loughborough who had held the title for the previous four years.
