VILLAGERS in Hemyock will launch their very own Taste of Hemyock cook book in support of St Mary’s Church at the Christmas Fair next month.

Bunting, biscuits and cake stands laden with goodies made from 71 tried and tested recipes given by the local clubs, children and village community will be on offer at the fair in the village hall on Saturday, December 1.

Recipes include everything from toddlers’ play dough and peppermint creams to Malay fish curry from local professional chef Conrad Fielding. A recipe has also been submitted by a dog – Eric the terrier, who just loves home-made biscuits, wants to share the recipe with his canine friends in the village.

Cook book committee chairwoman Louise Dalton said: “We thought it would be great if we could capture and share favourite recipes that have been tried, tested and perfected over the years or handed down from previous generations to inspire present and future cooks in a cook book for the whole village and beyond to enjoy and raise money at the same time.”
