PLANS to build a two-storey extensions at a home in Sandstone Rise in Wellington have been rejected by local planners.
Members of Wellington Town Council’s planning committee went along with a recommendation to turn down the application which had been submitted by Tom Fancy.
Cllr John Thorne said: “It’s not building an extension – it’s building another property in the garden. I would go with the officer’s recommendation.”
Councillors refused to give the application permission because the site was in a prominent position above Lower Westford and the proposal would more than double the size of the original property.
It was also judged that proposed extra first floor windows would result in overlooking and loss of privacy for neighbouring homes.
