YOUNG Faith Williams, of Sylvan Road, Wellington, has had the hair she has been growing for two years cut off – but it was all for a good cause.

Faith, eight, who attends Beech Grove Primary School in the town, had her hair cut in aid of the Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides real hair wigs free of charge for children going through cancer treatment or suffering from alopecia.

Faith has raised nearly £600 and given her hair to make wigs. Mum Amanda said: “I was trying not to cry – but it was getting too much and it had to come off! I’m so proud of her.”

Hairdresser Chloe Windsor at Claire’s Hair Salon in South Street cut off 12 inches of Faith’s hair – what the youngster called ‘two rulers worth’.

Amanda would like to thank the Victoria Arms in North Street for putting up a poster promoting Faith’s fundraiser.
