FAMILIES are being invited to a fortnight of late-night open evenings at Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm from this evening until Friday, December 10, including a series of musical entertainment.

The events at Middle Hill Farm in Langford Budville, are to help raise money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and Reminiscence Learning.

The farm will be open every weeknight until 8pm, on Saturday it will be open 9am until 6pm and on Sunday from 10am until 4pm.

“We will also have some Christmassy entertainment for anyone who decides to visit us on December 2, 3, 9 and 10,” said Nick Hendy, from Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm.

He added: “Coming to pick a Christmas tree in the evening is a magical experience for the family and this year we wanted to make it as special as possible,”

On Thursday, the Reminiscence Learning Choir – comprising 15 to 20 clients, carers, staff and volunteers – will be singing for visitors. Based in Wellington, the charity specialises in dementia care, activity and reminiscence.

On Friday, December 3, The Ukes of Wellington – a group of Somerset ukulele players of all abilities – will provide entertainment.

Acoustic guitarist and vocalist, Andy Doran will be there on Thursday, December 9 and the Wivey Wind Band on Friday, December 10, all from 6.30pm.

Christmas trees have been grown and sold on the family-owned farm for more than 20 years.
