THE Fezz will be bringing alive the music of Steely Dan at Cotleigh Brewery in Wiveliscombe on Friday (March 2).
The six guys love the music of Steely Dan and play some of their best songs including Do It Again, Kid Charlemagne, My Old School, Peg, Home At Last, Pretzel Logic, Reelin’ In The Years and many more.
While not attempting a note by note, bar by bar, recreation of Steely Dan’s meticulously crafted, tracks, they do capture the feel and spirit of one of the most sophisticated and inventive US bands of the second half of the twentieth century.
While Steely Dan’s songs form the majority of their set, they also play music by others from the 70s and 80s in the style of Little Feat, Bill Withers, The Average White Band, Robert Cray and much more.
The Fezz are Alan Davies (guitar), Colin Warren (bass), Robin Powell (keyboards, backing vocals), Morris Windsor (drums, backing vocals), Jim Melton (lead vocals, congas, and other percussion) and John Denton (lead vocals and guitar). Several members were also in the Soft Boys which launched Robyn Hitchcock’s career.
They have already built an avid following in their usual neck of the woods playing festivals and clubs in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire - so why not come and see them here in Somerset, and find out for yourself!
The Fezz will be at Cotleigh Brewery in Ford Road, Wiveliscombe, with doors opening at 7.30pm in readiness for the music at 8pm.
Tickets are priced £5 in advance or £7 on the door and available from Wiveliscombe Post office or ring Eddie on 07817 190320.
