PLANS are moving forward for Wellington to have its very own film festival in a bid to attract more visitors to the town.
A number of volunteers have come forward and offered to help with the festival – although no firm decisions have yet been made.
The festival is being supported by the Wellington Town Centre Working Group and a recent meeting saw members agree that the project should be taken forward by those who want to get involved including Wellesley Cinema manager Dave Harris.
It is not thought, however, that the festival will initially be self-funding and it is expected that Wellington Town Council might be called upon for financial assistance.
