TWO local companies won gold awards in the annual Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards 2016.

Top marks went to The Cottage Beyond in Wellington and Waterrow Touring Park near Wiveliscombe.

Christine Ker has run The Cottage Beyond with her husband Alan for five years.

She said: “It feels fantastic to win gold. We are backed up by local support, so really the award is for all of us.

“We were all over the moon to win and being part of the whole process made us look carefully at what we are doing. To have won gold against incredible competition is just fantastic.”
