FLOODS RETURN: Flooding came back to the Wellington area at the weekend, with a number of local roads inundated for the fourth time this year.

Nynehead was cut off from Wellington, and much of Bradford on Tone was again under water. But recent flood alleviation on the A38 work near Willowbrook Garden Centre appeared to have lessened the impact of heavy rain.

But with heavy rain predicted for the rest of Christmas week, and an amber flood warning issued by the Met Office on Monday, householders and drivers were being advised to stay on the alert.
