PEOPLE living in Bulford Lane, Wellington have demanded action after their homes were flooded in last week's storms.
Floodwater poured into homes at Martin's Buildings, Bulford Lane, Wellington, ruining carpets and furnishings.
Cllr Janet Reed, who represents West Ward on Wellington Town Council, said: "Water was pouring down from the footpath behind Wellington School and down to Martin's Buildings.
Richard Coupe, burser at Wellington School, who joined local people in Bulford Lane as they tried to protect their properties, denied the floodwater came from the school's playing field. He told the WWN: "Virtually every drain was blocked."
A spokesman for Somerset County Council said the drains were regularly inspected, saying Thursday's flooding was down to the sheer volume of rain.
A site meeting, to include representatives from the county's highways department, Wellington School and town councillors is being sought in a bid to solve the problem.
