Folk-rock band The Stoned Cherries are playing at Cotleigh Brewery in Ford Road, Wiveliscombe, in the latest concert in the Silver Street Sessions.
The Herefordshire-based band came together in their current form in 2014, based around core members Roger Pugh and Dave Evans.
The addition of Matt and Aly created a band that enjoys playing original and traditional songs and tunes, to make audiences dance, smile and think. Last year saw the band playing more festivals and bigger venues.
Roger and Dave write the original songs and tunes, with traditional tunes featuring as well. The occasional cover song may be thrown in for good measure.
The band plays with verve and passion, and a sprinkling of humour keeps audiences entertained.
Gigs have included the Red Lion Folk Club, with Geoff Lakeman, Farmer Phil’s Festival, Worcester Music Festival, Ludlow Green Festival, Clun Green Man Festival, Earth Fest at The Fold, the opening night of Bromyard Folk Festival, The Lowfield Inn at Marton, The Criterion in Leicester, The Sun Inn Leintwardine, The Bell Inn, Yarpole, Folk Down the Track , Knucklas, Knighton Community Hall and the Sylvester Horne Institute, Church Stretton.
The concert is on Saturday, April 27 – doors open at 7.30pm and the concert starts at 8pm. Tickets priced £10 (£8 concessions) are available from Wiveliscombe Post Office, phone 01984 623308, email [email protected] or via www.silverstreetsessions.co.uk
